Background:
A greenfield Oil & Gas processing site located in Middle-East was in midst of implementing an integrated Manufacturing Execution System (MES) including Laboratory Information System (LIS) based on technology from among the Top 3 global automation vendors. As part of the same, the lab analytical instruments (14 in number) were to be also integrated with the LIS system. The integration covered both uni-directional as well as bi-directional flow of information between Instrument Integration solution & LIS system.
Business Objective:
- Avoid the manual data entry of instrument analytical results into the LIS system
- Automate any result calculations to be done before publication into the LIS system
- Manage the raw and final result calculations from the instrument
- LIMS Link@application so Gware based solution was implemented & integrated with Honeywell LIS system
- Test Methods corresponding to various instruments were configured, validated, documented & training provided
- The instruments integration covered instruments like:
- Auto Viscometer
- FTIR Assay Sulfur Experts
- Particle Measuring Analyzer
- Weather Station Temperature/ Humidity Logger
- Gas Chromatograph Dual Channels, DHA
- Inductively Coupled Plasma Spectrophotometer
- Ion Chromatograph.
